PERFORMANCE BIO

When I was 6 years old, my mother, feeling the need to fill her children with an appreciation for the arts, signed my brother, sister and me up for a theater group called ABC (Acting By Children) run by two indomitable women named Jean Neiderlitz and Ann Steele. They lovingly wrote and directed entertaining and heartfelt musicals. We performed these musicals in venues throughout NJ and NY. I remember the highlight as being our production of "SANTA'S HOLIDAY" at Macy's on 34th Street for their Christmas season in 1979.

Well, it wasn't long before Jean and Ann got involved in the commercial business as managers for child actors. They asked to represent me and got me all set up with headshots (click here to see my 1975 headshot!) and a few acting and singing classes.

Every day for nearly two years, I would head into NY after school by myself to audition. It was hard, tiring work, but it paid off as I appeared in several national commercials and regional spots for a number of well-known brands, including HEINZ KETCHUP, GRIFFIN SHOE POLISH, PURINA DOG FOOD, FLOURIGARD MOUTHWASH, HOSTESS SNACK CAKES and THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.
